We stand behind our work. Honesty, integrity, reliability, professionalism, and attention to detail are the core values of A & J Automotive.
Ray Fannin – Owner and Master Technician
I have been employed in the automotive repair industry for more than 30 years. I am a Master Technician, having passed all ASE certifications. I continue to attend courses in all aspects of automotive diagnostics and repair to keep up with the latest technology and vehicle information available. After eight years as the Shop Foreman at a local Chevrolet dealership, I was able to realize my life-long dream of owning my own business. My wife, Carol, and I opened the doors of A & J Automotive (named after our two daughters, Amanda & Jenny) in 1996. We were very excited to be able to open a second location in January, 2008. A & J Automotive is truly a family owned & operated business in which we strive to treat our customers as we would our own family.
Tom Collins – Service Manager, Departure Drive Location
I started my career in 1986 at a service station, pumping gas, changing oil, and then getting an inspector’s license. After 17 years of training and honing my skills as a technician, I bought my own service station in my hometown of Kansas City. I have ASE certification as a service consultant. I enjoy working with the public, meeting new people and helping them keep their vehicles in peak condition. With 21 years of experience, I take pride in delivering honest and reliable service to our customers.
Keith Rensel – Shop Foreman & Master Technician, Wilders Grove Location
I came to A & J Automotive in 2004 with more than 18 years of experience as a technician at Chevrolet dealerships. I am a Master Technician, having passed all ASE certification courses as well as numerous GM certifications and specialized GM training. I continually attend courses in every subject available in automotive repair, as I feel it is extremely important to keep up with the latest information in the field. This affords me the ability to quickly and accurately diagnose your vehicle’s problems and help you keep your costs down.
Chris Mason – Technician, Wilders Grove Location
I have been with A & J Automotive a little more than a year and I have been a car enthusiast most of my life. As a licensed safety and emissions inspector, I will be especially thorough when it comes to checking over your car. I will take special care of your vehicle as if it were my own.
Josh Secrest – Master Technician, Wilders Grove Location
I have over 10 years of experience in the automotive field, and worked my way from General Service Technician to ASE Certified Master Automotive Technician. I apprenticed at a local Asian import automobile repair facility, and specialize in the Nissan / Infiniti line of vehicles. I am a Raleigh area native, and have deep roots in the community. I maintain close contact with the local chapter of the Independent Garage Owners of North Carolina. In my spare time I enjoy learning about new technologies, fishing, and spending time with my family.
Jonathan Lloyd – Service Manager, Wilders Grove Lane Location
I’ve been in the auto industry for 11 years and a Service Advisor for 4. I was born and raised here in Raleigh, and love spending time with friends and family, especially at the beach or around any body of water. I am a volunteer firefighter with Bay Leaf here in Raleigh, and devote as much time to that as possible. I love talking with people about preventive maintenance and repair, and I’ve never met a stranger.
Melody Cox – Office Manager, Departure Drive & Wilders Grove Locations
I started working for A & J Automotive in October of 2011, after relocating to the Raleigh
area with my husband, Matthew. I have a Business Administration degree from Elon University and a background in marketing, and will be handling A & J’s office needs. I
look forward to serving you here at A & J Automotive. Please let me know if
we can do anything to make your visit here better.
Max Rensel - Technician, Departure Drive Location
I’ve been with A & J Automotive since January 2012. I’ve become known in the auto industry as “Keith’s son”, as my dad is a lifelong auto mechanic, who also works for A & J Automotive. I graduated from Fuquay-Varina High School in 2009, and currently have my Associates Degree in Applied Science with a major in Automotive Service Technology from Wake Tech Community College. I’m a licensed state inspector, and have multiple ASE Certifications. In my spare time I enjoy going to car shows and track events.
